This Week's Update On The 14th and 13th Green

Here we are at the end of another week. Its the Memorial Day Week-end and one can just see the sprouts of Grass on the 14th green and the 13th green. There has been some more sodding upto each of the greens. There has been some more top soil poured onto the 14th fairway and some grading, getting ready for sod to be laid onto the fairway. J.B. has been working overtime to keep the greens watered adequately in the 90 degree heat. There will be a lull in the work since there won't be any work done because of the Memorial Day Week-End until Tuesday, June 1, 2010. If you double click on each photo you will be able to see it enlarged.

Week-End Review 14 and 13 War Memorial Golf Course

Here are some pictures of the 14th and 13th green areas showing what has been done this Week. Note the sod in the middle of the mud. Can this be a sign of what is to come? Doesn't seem like the greens are started yet. They are supposed to have plugs of Bermuda Bent Grass Greens. Can't wait! Double click on a picture to make it bigger. Look closely and you may see a golfer practicing on the 18th. Note the patch of sod in the middle of mud. Wonder if this is a sign of things to come this coming week.

Work on The Banks of the 14th Green

If all goes according to plan, the new holes will be ready before the 4th of July Tournament. A visit to the 14th and 13th holes after 5:00P.M. revealed several workers still working on the side of the 14th green. Each of the new greens are now covered with pea gravel. There is no evidence yet of any plantings on the greens.
Here are some of the pictures taken today, May 18, 2010 after 5P.M..If you double click on a picture, you can see it enlarged in your browser.
