The Greens are coming along and there are now sprinkler heads squirting the greens with beautiful arcs of water showing just how big the greens are. Its the Second Week. We've gotten an invite from the club for the Annual 4th of July Tournament which we'll be able to play even though the greens won't be quite ready for prime time.
Here are some shots of the 13th and 14th Greens this week ending June 4, 2010.
Here is an invitation to join the 4th of July Tournament
Hello WMGC Tournament Players:
The 2010 Fourth of July Tournament will be held July 3-5 at War Memorial Park Golf Course in Little Rock. As you may know, War Memorial has undergone exciting new changes this year with the construction of two new holes. Hole thirteen has been changed to a medium-to-long par three across Coleman Creek. The new fourteenth hole is a dramatic, medium-length, downhill par three which plays to a peninsula green. Both holes will challenge the expert golfer, yet be playable by golfers of all skill levels. The greens are larger than most other greens at the Park and are nicely contoured. The tifdwarf bermuda sprigs are in their second week of growth and are showing good signs of green-up. They will not reach full maturity by the Fourth of July Championship, but we do expect them to be playable for the Fourth of July. The holes that were 14, 15 and 16 will be renumbered to become holes 15, 16 and 17.
We appreciate your support of War Memorial Park Golf Course and hope you will make plans to play in this year's Championship!
